Employees across the country will have to wait longer for their April salaries for a quite good number of couple of days.This follows presidential order on interventions to cushion employees against the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy. From this order, the National Treasury had been directed to implement; 100% tax relief for persons earning a gross monthly pay of not more than 24,000 shillings. [Photo courtesy] The Auditor-General has put Vihiga County Government on the spot after a thorough audit revealed that 5 employees had earned approximately Ksh1.7 million through a shared bank account. The report released by the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Database (IPPD) revealed that in the latest 2018/19 audit report the 5 employees were paid using a single Commercial Bank account that was set up in Machakos County.
