The Government has suspended all levies imposed on maize imported into the country from around the country. The move is set to reduce to reduce maize flour prices which hit a new record in the last two weeks. Agriculture Cabinet Secretary, Peter Munya says the INITIATIVE will last for 90 days starting from July first until the next harvest.

The Judges said the Bill was not a popular Initiative and that it was promoted by the Executive and not the people of Kenya. After the nullification of BBI in the lower Court Judges, a section of Members of Parliament in the National Assembly has maintained the Constitution should be amended to allow for the creation of the two Deputy Presidents that will help the President in the next Government after Kenyatta's.
Building bridges Initiative came after the relationship between the president and the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. A task force was formed and went across the country collecting vies of kenyans that led to formation of a referendum bill. Some stakeholders were not happy with the process at all.
A few days ago,the court of appeal affirmed the High Court Ruling made in early May this year. The Court Of Appeal maintained that the consititution amendment is unconstitutional null and void. Besides this,the judges added that the IEBC do not have quoram to conduct its activities.
