Residents of Bumula have every reason to smile today after county government of Bungoma, through the department of Health and Sanitation, launched the construction of a maternity ward (Delivery unit) at Nasyanda Dispensary. Speaking during the site handover to the contractor, Ag. Director of Sanitation Philip Sagini said this facility will provide privacy and confidentiality to mothers who were delivering in an open general ward thus improve health services.
The County Government of Busia is addressing issues affecting the health sector for the benefit of residents. This is according to the Chief Officer Health and Sanitation, Dr Isaac Omeri. The County Government of Busia has intensified surveillance at the Busia and Malaba border points to curb the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19) from both Kisumu and Uganda which have recorded a surge in number of cases. Busia Chief Officer Health and Sanitation Dr Isaac Omeri said they are taking all the measures necessary to control the spread of the disease among the locals.
