To close the supply-demand gap in the nation the government has given millers and traders a duty-free window to import white maize and rice. The ministry set a limit on the importation of maize at 900,000 metric tonnes according to a notification that Agriculture Principal Secretary (PS) Phillip Harsama published in regional newspapers on Thursday, December 15.
