Kirinyaga Assembly Approves All Waiguru ‘s Cabinet Nominees

Kirinyaga county assembly Tuesday unanimously endorsed the committee on appointment‘s report which approved all the ten individuals nominated to serve as CEC members in the Kirinyaga county government. Governor Ann Waiguru‘s cabinet was given a clean bill of health after it was ascertained that all the nominees surpassed the requisite threshold to hold their respective offices.This was on account of their high academic qualifications, vast wealth of experience and reputable leadership capabilities.

Kirinyaga County Health Officials Dismiss Claims That 12000 Out Of 16000 Students Contracted STIs

Kirinyaga county health officials have dismissed claims by the Education Director that 12000 students out of 16000 students were diagnosed and treated STIs. Addressing the media, Kirinyaga County CEC for Medical Services, Public Health and Sanitation, CEC George Karoki, reports by Kennedy Machora were exaggerated and misleading.

Kirinyaga County dismisses report on 12,000 students contracting STIs

In a statement released on Monday, the County’s CEC for Medical Services, Public Health and Sanitation (CEC ) George Karoki said the remarks by the Education director were misleading, adding that the claim cannot be  substantiated. According to Karoki, the department of Health recorded and treated 1,345 cases of sexually transmitted infections in Kirinyaga central sub-county and 4,409 cases in the entire county this year.

Kirinyaga Minister dispute earlier reports that over 12,000 students had been diagnosed with STI

Kirinyaga County executive Committee Member (CECM) for medical services, George Karoki, on Monday, November 28, disputed earlier reports that over 12,000 students had been diagnosed with a Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI). In a letter, the CECM noted that the claims made by the Kirinyaga Central Sub-county Director of Education Kennedy Machora could not be substantiated.
