Newly Launched Sh 17.2 Million Water Project Expected to End Sanitation Challenges in Lamu.

User Residents who have for decades been enduring poor sanitation in Lamu are optimistic that the newly launched Sh 17.2 million water project will help end the problem. The project partly financed by the Kenya Government as well as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation intends to improve the general sanitation and hygiene levels in the county, particularly Mokowe Town. The project is being undertaken by the Lamu Water and Sewerage Company (LAWASCO) after successfully securing funding from the Water Sector
