The United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo or simply MONUSCO has confirmed that eight military officers were shot and injured by M23 rebels in the Eastern DRC. It has been confirmed that soldiers who were in the village of Nyamilima in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic came face to face with the rebels which resulted in some getting injured during the fight.

In today's news brief dubbed ''General Security Update'', the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) announced a big victory, noting that more than 600 militants have been put out of action and several weapons recovered from them.
