According to reports from a local Kamba media station the top student Faith Kawee Mumo was facing the risk of not joining secondary school due to lack of schools fees.
Schools are expected to be opened on 26 July for their first term. Then the form one intake is set to start on 2 August. This has kept the parents on their toes as they look towards making it before children return to school. In a sad scenario a top student in Machakos county, Faith Mumo, was not able to raise the fees to join form one.
After a long while of waiting , Faith Mumo is now set to join Kenya High school in which she had secured a place following her good perfomance in the 2022 KCPE examinations. This is after her area member of parliament promised to help raise her school fees. Mumo's performance attracted lots of pledges ranging from school fees, shopping, school bags, and even vacations in Mombasa, however, not a single pledge was fulfilled.
It was tears of joy for the 2020 KCPE top candidate after her dream of joining Kenya High School was finally actualized. Faith Mumo, who scored 433 marks out of the possible 500 in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exam, breathed a sigh of relief when she received bursary funds to cater for her education.
Top KCPE exam performer Faith Mumo predicament following unfulfilled pledges to support her education, Matungulu Mp Stephen Mule has assured the family of a four year scholarship from the CDF. Mule issued Mumo 120,000 cheque stating it was for her entire first year expenses at Kenya High School where she was admitted.
