Principal Secretary nominee Julius Korir is a man under siege after he was accused of beating his pregnant wife over food. Korir's estranged wife yesterday explained to the court how the events took place in their house. Evelyn Koech told Milimani Senior Resident Magistrate Caroline Muthoni that she was almost due with her second child when the husband descended on her with kicks and blows.That she was in the bedroom trying to put their first born to sleep when the husband entered the children's bedroom shouting.

Julius Korir, the candidate for Principal Secretary of Cabinet Affairs, was arraigned in court on Tuesday for the hearing of a case in which he is accused of beating his ex-wife. Evelyn Koech spoke in court about the alleged abuse she suffered at the hands of the PS nominee, claiming that when Mr. Korir got home one day and requested for food, he began beating her before she had a chance to react.
