The City of Champions has faced a shortage in water supply for the last couple of weeks, something new to the residence who have always enjoyed services without rationing.
The body in charge of water supply and sanitation in Eldoret i.e ELDOWAS, has issued out a public notice to all eldoret residents reliant on Chebara Dam for Water.

Provision of water services is expected to improve in Eldoret Town and its environs following the groundbreaking of Sh4.5 million Cheptulon community gravity water project in Elgeyo-Marakwet County. The 5.5 km water pipeline project which rises from Embobut Forest within the Cherangani Reserve to be implemented in two phases will increase the water capacity in Eldoret by 14, 000 cubic liters of water. Eldoret residents will not have water supply from Eldoret Water and Sewerage Company (ELDOWAS) for the next two days. According to ELDOWAS managing director Paul Murgor this is after Chebara main line was damaged by a road contractor. "Our Chebara main line has been damaged at Kruger Farm by a road contractor. Our team is heading to the site to assess the damage and embark on repairs.We have closed the entire main line from Chebara hence we will have water supply interruptions for the next two days," said
