Her name is Eunice Muringo Kiereini.She was born in 1939 in Kerugoya to parents who were both teachers.She is the sister to S.K Macharia's wife, Purity Gathoni Macharia.The Loreto Girls alumni studied nursing at Southampton General Hospital in the United Kingdom for three years. She then joined the Simpson Memorial Maternity Pavilion in Edinburg for training in midwifery.
