Kenyan Currency Could Be Replaced As Plans To Develop A Common Currency In East Africa Emerge
The Kenyan currency could soon be done away with after details emerged of a proposal to develop a common East African currency. Currently, all seven member states of East Africa have their own national currencies. This new currency will see the member states of the East African community also develop an East African Central Bank, which will be mandated with issuing the single currency.
