Treasury CS Ukur Yatani reportedly wants his political arch-rival, Marsabit Governor Mohamud Ali, investigated and arrested over graft charges. Yatani wrote to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and the National Intelligence Service (NIS) asking the agency to speed up investigations and arraign Ali in court.
On Tuesday, reports emerged of an imminent arrest of Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi's wife and three children by the Anti Corruption body EACC. According to a notice allegedly from the EACC, Kiraitu's wife and the three children were set to be arrested and arraigned in court over KSh.2 billion Meru County corruption scandal.

In the investigations conducted by the commission,it established that two companies Caperina Construction CO.Limited and Caperima Enterprise Limited which were not pre-qualified suppliers were paid for goods not supplied and services not rendered,among other allegations.
EACC chief executive officer Twalib Mbaraka urged Kenyans to treat a letter alleging that the commission had recommended the arrest of Governor Kiraitu Murungi with contempt because it is fake. He assured that the EACC is committed to the fight against graft and is investigating some crucial cases. The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has turned its gaze towards a Treasury Ministry employee who amassed Ksh96.6 million wealth in just 5 years. A report by Business Daily on Thursday, July 15, indicated that the commission was seeking to recover assets valued at Ksh50 million from the suspect identified as Charles Muia Mutiso.

The High Court Stopped the anti-graft agency from hiring a deputy CEO over unreasonable compulsory requirements set by the commission. Justice Nzioki Makau considered the case by Kevin Odongo as urgent and granted a temporary injunction barring the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and Public Service Commission from conducting interviews for the position.

It is illegal and perpetuators should be treated like normal criminals. It has derailed development in the country because huge amount of money is looted by a few people.
