Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is the current sitting President of Uganda. Incumbent President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is one of the longest serving leaders in Africa. He ascended to power in 1986. He is also a former military officer in Uganda. Incumbent President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is known to be a no nonsense and most feared politician in Uganda.
The Ugandan contingent of the African Union Mission in Somalia, AMISOM, have relocated from Marianguwaay Forward Operating (FOB) base in Lower Shabelle region in the Southwest State of Somalia as part of troop realignment to provide more effective security to the Main Supply Routes, MSRs, and the general area.

Recently promoted Uganda army officers currently serving under the African Union Mission in Somalia, AMISOM, have received their new rank insignia while in Mogadishu, Somalia.In April 2021, a total of 1,393 officers of the Uganda Peoples Defence Force were promoted to various junior and senior ranks.
High level intelligence have it that Museveni is in a high level state of paranoia, hence the immediate reappointment of his son Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba as the commandant of Special Forces Command (SFC). General Muhoozi who was Museveni’s special adviser in charge of special operations was once the commandant of the elite forces in charge of personal protection of the president, his family, constitution and other vital national assets back in January 2017. Around then he was replaced by Maj. Gen. Don Nabasa.
