Mixed Reactions After Court of Appeal Yet Again Drops Landmark Ruling on Governor Sonko's Impeachment
The court of appeal has today delivered another landmark ruling in regards to the impeachment of Former Nairobi County Governor Hon Mike Sonko Which took place in December last year. In its Ruling, the court has declared that Governor Sonko's impeachment was legal and that the alleged swearing in of the Current Nairobi Deputy Governor Hon Anne Kananu Mwenda was also legal, even though various Kenyan laws such as Nelson Havi have maintained that something fishy took place.
Anne Kananu Mwenda will finally be the Nairobi county boss after the Court of Appeal ruled that former Nairobi county governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko is no longer the county chief. The court has noted that Mike Mbuvi Sonko has been out of office for more than 10 months and hence no longer legally qualified to play the role of the county chief.

Former Nairobi County boss woes and troubles started in November 26 last year after a notice for his removal was lodged at the Nairobi County Assembly by one Michael Ogada. On December 3, MCAs met and agreed to impeach the former Governor and a resolution for his removal was passed.
Court of appeal has earlier today given speaker Ann Kananu green light to be sworn is as the third Nairobi governor. This follows after former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko filed a petition barring Kananu from assuming the office as the county boss. The case was thrown by the court of appeal and in favour of Kananu okaying her to go on with the swearing.
The former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko seems to have now been finally overthrown out of the Nairobi governance seat now officially. This comes after his case hearing have been pending in court for several months now as the final decision was being awaited for so as to determine what was the next desicion for him.
