6 Police Cops Accused Of Murdering 2 Kianjokoma Brothers Back In Court And are Expected To Take a Plea
Six police officers accused of murdering two Kianjokoma brothers are back in court and are expected to take plea. The latest report comes when High Court dismissed the application by the six officers connected to the murder of the slain two Kianjokoma brothers, to have their bodies exhumed.
Four of the six police officers charged with the killing of the two Embu brothers have contracted Covid-19 while in custody. It is reported that, Corporal Benson Mbuthia Mabuuri and police constables Martin Musamali Wanyama, Nicholas Sang Cheruiyot and James Mwaniki Njohu did not present themselves in court for their hearing today Wednesday.
The two brothers who met their untimely deaths while in the custody of the police were Benson Njiru, 22 and Emmanuel Mutura,19 years respectively. An autopsy revealed that the two died as a result of multiple injuries which could have resulted from blunt force trauma. According to the police officers who worked at the Manyatta Police Station, a single witness who was seated in the back seat of the Lab Cruiser saw the brothers jumping out.
City sex workers risk being jailed for six months after the Nairobi County Nuisance Act 2020 was signed into law by Deputy Governor Anne Kananu. The Act aims to control nuisances in public places including spitting and blowing the nose without a handkerchief. Those found on the wrong will be fined between Sh10,000 and Sh500,000 or face six to 12 months imprisonment.
