President William Ruto nominated Alice to be the CS for Water. The former Inooro FM radio host stood for the seat of Murang'a woman representative on a Jubilee party ticket, but was defeated by UDA's Betty Njeri Maina.
Nominations in various part of the country where its elected leaders were named as CSs and other positions in government are yet to kick off as insider in one of president Ruto's CSs reveals plans to interfere with the oncoming nominations. According to the staff of former Kandara MP Alice Wahome, there is plans to interfere with the nominations alleging that already staff are been coerced to campaign for a particular candidate.
Following Alice Wahome's appointment to the cabinet, renowned journalist Waithira Muithirania declared her intention to run for the parliamentary seat in the Kandara constituency. President William Ruto proposed Alice as the CS for Water and therefore left the seat vacant. On a Jubilee party ticket, the former Inooro FM radio host competed for the Murang'a woman representative seat, but Betty Njeri Maina of the UDA defeated her.
