Kenyans are eagerly waiting for the education taskforce report which will determine the fate to the controversial competency based curriculum. The curriculum has received a mixed reaction from both parents and stake holders, some arguing that its 100% implementation not possible, while others praising it for encouraging skills development and practical approach to teaching and learning.

The compitency based curriculum is set to replace the 8-4-4 system that has been there since late 80s. A task Force formed to collect views on CBC has finally delivered it's final report to the president. According to the recommendations, the junior secondary school will be retained in primary schools bringing to an end the debate on where it should be domiciled.

The CBC working panel has suggested that junior secondary students be housed at current primary institutions. The ministry is also required to build new classrooms and a laboratory, according to the report that was delivered to the President on Thursday.
