On 15th May, reports surfaced that the former Treasury Principal Secretary, Kamau Thugge, has been nominated by the President of Kenya, William Ruto, as the next Governor of the Central Bank of Kenya. Thugge, who holds a Doctorate Degree in Economics from Hopkins University in Maryland USA, has previously served as the Senior Advisor and Head of Fiscal Affairs and Budget Policy in the Ruto administration.

President Ruto Starts Strategies To End Tension Of Responsibilities Between Gachagua And Mudavadi
President William Ruto has appeared to start strategies to end the tension between the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and the Chief Minister Musalia Mudavadi. President Ruto used the three-day conference of heads of government to clarify each one's responsibilities to avoid conflicts. The conference included ministers, ministry secretaries (PSs) and advisers to President Ruto on economic issues such as Dr David Ndii, Dr Kamau Thugge and Dr Augustine Cheruiyot.
