Lawrence Mpuru Aburi was born on 01 March 1962 in Tigania, Meru County.Mpuru Aburi is the son to Aburi Naiture, a community leader who had three wives, Aburi was the only child of his mother. He is the former Mp for Tigania East Constituency in Meru County.He attended Mutiwa Primary School after which he joined Thika Academy in 1979.He is married to Agnes Kajuju, with whom they are blessed with three children.He is the father to Rodgers Kipembe the famous millionaire who owns18 cars including a Porsche, 3 range rovers, 6 Mercedes Benz, SUV v8 Land cruiser among other cars.His political career started in1992 when Mpuru Aburi vied for the local Mikinduri councillor’s seat and won on a Ford Kenya ticket.In 2002 he vied and lost to Peter Munya and for the second time again in 2007 he lost to Munya again In 2013 he was elected as the member of parliament for Tigania under ODM ticket.
Aburi gardens is one of the best recreational sites located in Eastern region of Ghana. Member of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Mpuru Aburi has assured the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga that people from Meru County led by CS Peter Munya and from Western Region led by CS Eugene Wamalwa will rally behind his presidential bid. Speaking on Tuesday at the Bomas of Kenya during the launch and NDC of the new party, Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP), Aburi said that the ODM leader can make a good president, and that they will tirelessly search for his votes.
