Speaking to the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslim leadership who presented themselves at the DCI Headquaters days ago he was seeking to draw his attention to the rising cases of enforced disappearances, Kinoti committed to investigations to establish the whereabouts of Abdiwahab Sheikh Abdisamad.

Cases of kidnappings are not something new in the country as many people are lost each day sometimes never to be seen again by their loving families. Individuals who have spoken with Abdiwahab said that the abductors were interested in his operations and contacts in Somalia as well as regional security, according to the Star. The Kenyan-Somali researcher who was kidnapped from Nairobi's city center and eventually returned unhurt claims he couldn't identify those who kidnapped him since they were all wearing balaclavas covering up their identities.

According to sources, Abdiwahab was released on Sunday evening by men who had held him captive for over one week. However, talking to the media the famous professor said he was abducted by all hooded men who took him to an unknown location.
