Kenya Airways To Start Direct Flights From Mombasa To Dubai

Kenya Airways now operates direct flights from Mombasa to Dubai, shortening travel times for travelers to the Middle East. During the flight's takeoff, 145 passengers departed for their first journey, witnessed by Vice President Rigati Gachagua and other dignitaries.“Flights from Moi International Airport will make this airport his second hub after Jomohi Kenyatta International Airport, which will connect passengers directly to the United Arab Emirates,” Gachagua said.Gachagua said Kenya's air transport has what it takes to boost the economy, adding that it will boost freight exports and the tourism sector.

Cabinet Secretary of Transport Kipchumba Murkomen, his tourism colleague Penina Maronza, Governor of Mombasa Abdulswamad Nasir, Secretary General of Kenya Airports Authority Alex Guitari, Kenya Tourism Board Deputy Chief Executive John Chirchir attended this event. Murkomen recognized the important role the aviation industry plays in the growth of the economy and tourism sector. “As Minister, we want to bring all stakeholders together to unlock this immense potential. It shows how things are going," Murkomen said.

Kenya Airways chief commercial and customer officer Julius Tair said the local tourism hub will ensure that it attracts more international travelers.
