Get To Know Of A Man Who Owned An Island At Lake Baringo And Also Had 7 Wives

Baringo County is one of the counties that each and every one could ever want to have an adventure. It is a place blessed with ranging variety of natural resources from hills, valleys, waterfalls, view points, lakes, flamingos to hot springs located at lake Bogoria.

One of the largest lake within the county is lake Baringo located at central part of the county and it has seven islands which includes Ol-Kokwe, Samatian, Devil's Island, Longcharo, Lekorosi, Barmolok and Island Camp.

Barmolok Island is approximated to be 40 acres and it is under the ownership Lempakany family. Lempakany was a father to the late Lepilian who died on September 2020 at age of 105 years leaving behind 5 wives, 25 children and over 200 grandchildren. This island was nicknamed 'the Island of love' for a man who had married 7 wives. The family mainly depends on fish and animal products such as meat and milk since the land is less productive on crop farming.
