The Antonov An-225 is the world's biggest and heaviest aeroplane ever built. This plane was built and designed to carry very heavy cargo. At first, The Antonov An-225 was built to carry the Buran spaceplane and Energy rocket boosters but later started lifting very heavy goods. This plane weighs 175 tonnes without anything on board and has a maximum takeoff weight of 640 tonnes. It measures 84 meters long and 88 meters in the wingspan.

The Antonov An-225 has six engines. It carries load upto 250 tonnes. This plane has 32 wheels which helps to spread the weight on the ground when landing. It has a cargo space of 43 meters by 6.4 meters by 4.4 meters. This space is very big that it can hold upto 50 cars. The Antonov An-225 has more than 200 world records. This aeroplane lifted the world's heaviest cargo and the longest cargo in the world.

In 2004, it transported an oil pipeline machinery weighing 247 tonnes to Uzbekistan. This plane flys at 290 feet above the ground. It has a fuel capacity of more than 300 tonnes and a maximum speed of 850 km/h. The Antonov An-225 operates about 20 flights in one year. To hire it, it will cost anyone 30,000 dollars per hour. Because of its size, 35 percent of the airports in the world don't have enough space for its landing.
