Countries With Tallest Buildings Proving That Africa Has Developed

1.Djamaa el Djazair Mosque. Algeria.

It is one of the tallest buildings in Algeria and Africa at large. The building stands 265 metres high with 37 floors and designed to withstand an earthquake of magnitude 9.0 and the structure has been specially processed to resist corrosion. 

The mosque sits on a site covering 400,000 m2 approximately 4,300,000 sq ft With the prayer hall having a capacity of 37,000 worshippers, while the structure including the compound can house up to 120,000 worshippers and 7,000 space for car parking.

2.The Leonardo. South Africa.

Built at Sandton Johannesburg, The leonardo is a 55 floor and a multi-use property development in South Africa. The building stands at a height of 234 metres (768 ft), making it one of the tallest building in Africa.

3.Britam Tower. Kenya.

This another building that is in the record of tallest buildings in Africa. It is a commercial building in Nairobi owned by British-American Investments Company (Britam) standing at a maximum height of 195 metres (640 ft), above ground, with 32 floors. Currently Britam Tower stands the tallest building in Kenya.

4.The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia.

The 52 stories building in Ethiopia stands at 198 meters tall with two 5-story podiums, and 20-metre deep underground parking lots. It is located along Ras Desta Damtew Road in Addis Ababa. The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia serves as the headquarters of the state-owned Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, and one of the country's largest bank.

5.The Casablanca Twin Center. Morocco.

It is a two skyscrapers at Casablanca city, in Morocco. The two structures stands 115 meters high making them the tallest buildings in Morocco and in Africa. They each have 28 floors containing shops, offices, and a five-star hotel. Casablanca Twin Center is located at the heart of Casablanca in the Maarif district.

6.Tanzania Ports Authority.

It is on of the tallest buildings in Tanzania standing at 157 meters high with 40 floors. The skyscraper is located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
