According to fresh statistics issued by tourism officials in Nairobi, Uganda has kept its position as Kenya's largest tourist source market in the region for the second year in a row.
This information is featured in the new Kenya Tourism Sector Performance Report for 2022, which was published Wednesday at the Fairmont Norfolk Hotel in Nairobi by Tourism Cabinet Secretary Peninah Malonza.
Kenyan tourist officials and business sector actors have spent years marketing the nation in Uganda, particularly to coastal beach enthusiasts. The two countries also have close economic and commercial connections.
Uganda was the leading contributor in the East African area, with around 151,121 tourists to Kenya, closely followed by Tanzania with 123,836, and Rwanda with 48,232.

Somalia finished in fourth place with 40,133 visits, followed by Ethiopia with 36,581 and South Sudan with 35,760.
According to the research, Uganda provided 12 percent of total arrivals to Kenya in 2022, trailing only the United States, which contributed 16 percent.
