DP Gachagua Faces A Backlash As Kenya Airways Corrects Him Over His 'State Capture' Remarks

Kenya Airways has now come out clean to clear the air after Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua claimed that they are under state capture. In a recent television interview, the DP singled out the national carrier Kenya Airways (KQ) for censure. Rigathi Gachagua said that KQ makes loses because of state capture.

Latest reports from sources now indicates that Gachagua's claims are not true and misleading. KQ chairman said that issues facing them are in business arrangement. KQ chairman Michael Joseph says airline publicly listed and Gachagua's claims are not true.

They also dismissed claims that they were paying above market price fees for services offered to the airline stating that the cost are within the prevailing market prices at the time.

For the last few days, DP Gachagua has been facing backlash in most of his statements after they were corrected by respective heads. Those who corrected Gachagua openly include the Treasury, the Central Bank of Kenya, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and now the Kenya Airways (KQ).
