Kisumu is a Kenyan port city on Lake Victoria and it has attractive places to visit for recreational purposes. This places includes:

1) Ndere Island National Park

Ndere island National park lies on the Lake Victoria. It is the haven for birds such as Grey headed king fisher, black headed gonolouks and African fish eagles. The beautiful Lake shore is a home to wide range of animals such as monitor lizard, hippos, snakes, baboons, water bucks, Nile crocodile and snakes.

2) Kit Mikayi

Kit Mikayi means stone of the first wife or stone of the first woman in luo. It is located a Km away from Kisumu - Bondo road. This site is majorly associated with the sacrifices as well as many legends belonging to the pre Christian Timings.

3) Kisumu Impala Sanctuary

It is located 3km from Kisumu town near the Hippo point. It is nested on the shore of Lake Victoria and its a home for Impala. It is a relaxing and peaceful place where you can unwind and enjoy the natural beauty abound here. Several number primate species and cheetahs,big cats, giraffes and Buffalo are spotted here.

4) Kisumu Museum

Kisumu museum exhibit focus on cultural and the natural history of western Kenya. Museum features a vast collection of local Flora and Fauna.

5) Kiboko Bay

Its located on the shore of Lake Victoria. Kiboko bay is a people friendly resort that offers striking views of the lake. It is largest popular for activities such as hippo spotting, sandy beaches, birds watching, boat rides and numerous walks.
