When the 'Ruto Mashinani' Facebook page started broadcasting DP Ruto's meeting with leaders from the Coast region in the afternoon of today on May 22nd, one thing that could be noticed was the name of the hotel or rather conference center from which the meeting had been converged.
As seen in the collage photo above, the name "Sun N Sand" was what could be seen on the podium from which the DP and leaders present delivered their speeches and upon spotting it, we didn't have a hard time establishing that they were at Sun N Sand Beach Resort that's located at Kikambala village of Kilifi County. Below are some aerial photos of that luxurious beach resort.

In our quest to find out more about this resort, we found that it sits on 16.5 acres of land, has been in existence since 1971 and it is undergoing expansion with the below pictured luxurious accommodation complex that's 15 storeys high being the latest to be developed.
As revealed in a 2006 article of the link below, the hotel is owned by a Kikambala based man called Mahmud Visram who founded it in the year 1971 starting off with just 14 rooms but whose resilience and believe in the business got him develop a five star hotel as of today.
Below are some photos of Mr Mahmud Visram;

In a YouTube video of the link below, Mr Mahmud Visram revealed in May 2013 that the resort has several yoga areas, exercise areas and swimming pools that additions to its luxurious rooms.
Back then, the white tower seen above hadn't been completed and Visram was announcing on that day his plan to invest Ksh 15 billion in developing seven towers that'll make it a world-class luxurious hospitality complex.
