The family of the Nakuru doctor's wife have denied reports that the girl was about to travel abroad and leave her family by themselves.
Winnie Odhiambo was away in Nairobi when her husband James Gakara, a Nakuru-based gynaecologist, allegedly killed their two young children and attempted to require his own life.
Speaking to the maintain Wednesday, September 22, Winnie's elder sister Roseline Odhiambo said it had been false that the mother of two wanted to travel abroad adding the couple failed to have any wrangles.
According to Roseline, Winnie had just registered at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and on the Saturday, September 18, that the incident happened, she was in Nairobi for her classes.
Winnie's sister added that the couple was on good terms on Saturday, and were in constant communication.
In their last conversation, Gakara asked Winnie to not travel back home to Nakuru as he was aiming to visit Nairobi with the youngsters. He told her he would pick her up at Juja.
However, that was never to happen as on the night o Saturday, the gynaecologist is suspected to own drugged his two children Dylan, 5, and Karuana, 3.
He then allegedly tried to require his own life but was rushed to the Nakuru Level F Hospital where he died on Wednesday, September 22, after four days within the medical aid Unit.
Unfortunately, the mother of two was overwhelmed with emotions after learning the news of his husband's death and she or he is currently admitted to the hospital's High Dependency Unit.
