In the month of May 2021, the people of Nakuru county got overjoyed by the news that they will be having an airport constructed, a first of its kind, set to end in August 2022 and start its operations thereafter, however the project is still in its begginer stages" The first phase is underway with the ksh 3B project expected to be completed by August 2022" Reads a post by Ntv kenya dated 11 May 2021.
The main aim of the construction as explained was to create agriculture and tourism opportunities to the people of rift valley who are best known for agriculture and diversity in culture.
However, the project seems to be on a go slow this year, 2023, as it has not taken effect in its construction nor the running of operations. The airport which was set to be established in lanet near the millitary barracks is now a mystry that the residents are eagerly waiting to see, considering that now the county has upgraded to a city level.
