IEBC: Our Systems Are Hacker-Proof

Marjan Hussein Marjan confirmed as the CEO of <a class=IEBC - The Standard"/>

After false information about the vulnerability of its voting equipment began to circulate on social media, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) took action to calm concerns that its systems could be manipulated.

CEO Marjan Hussein Marjan said during a news meeting earlier in the afternoon that the false claim that the results portal has been breached is circulating. They want to reassure the nation that nothing similar has occurred. They put safeguards in place to secure it on all levels because they expected that somebody would try to hack their systems.

He said that the IEBC has been monitoring all of its systems on all levels, including network, application, database and operating system to ensure that no hacking occurs and he also added that although unnamed players may attempt to do so, IEBC's systems were infallible.

He added that if anyone has any questions, they should please contact them and not spread false information.

The electoral commission also claimed that it had cleaned up the floor at Bomas of Kenya and that only IEBC officials; two representatives of each presidential contender and returning officers will be permitted to deliver results into the auditorium from now on.

The announcement came hours after an altercation between UDA and Azimio agents amid allegations that UDA operatives had secretly entered the room with a suspicious device.
