The registration process for huduma number was conducted two years ago. The process was done over for a period of one month. As it stands, the huduma card was made in order to offer a replacement for the current national ID cards which are currently being used in Kenya. The government had said that the primary purpose of the huduma cards was to enable Kenyans to access various government services by just using the one document which is huduma card instead of using many different documents when in need of government services.
The process for huduma card collection has began and all individuals who registered for huduma number are being advised to visit any nearest huduma center carrying their original ID cards to collect their huduma cards. The following are the services which will be incorporated under the huduma cards according to huduma Kenya Facebook page and the huduma Kenya website whereby Kenyans will be required to provide the card when they need the services.
1.The Kenya Revenue Authority services
2.The National Health Insurance Fund services
3.The National Social Security Fund services
4.Driving license services
6.Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education services
7.Kenya Certificate of Primary Education services
8.Birth certificate services
The above are some of the many services which will all be incorporated in the huduma card. This will need the old system where people were required to carry all the above documents when they need government services.
