This year's Jamhuri Day celebrations will b le President William Ruto's first since he took over power from his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking on Tuesday, 6th December 2022, President Ruto issued a major update on his plans for this year's Jamhuri Day fete.
The Head of State revealed that he had invited technology leaders from Facebook and Google to grace this year's Jamhuri Day Fete and not the usual people.
He stated that he had deliberately decided that this year’s Jamhuri Day is going to be profiled properly and themed the innovation Jamhuri Day and would not see the usual people invited.
"I deliberately decided that this year’s Jamhuri Day is going to be profiled properly and themed the innovation Jamhuri Day. Instead of inviting the usual people who we invite, I have decided to invite our technology leaders worldwide from Facebook and from Google," President William Ruto said.
