Equity Bank Issues a Stern Warning to Its Customers

With the drastic increase in cyber bullying and electronic deception occassioned by unforseen malwares encompassed in a myriad number of links present in some websites and distinguished social media platforms, Equity Bank has warned its customers against clicking links shared from unknown sources.

The bank further maintained that hovering the mouse over the link in an effort to see full address of the webpage (URL) or manually typing in the link on a browser to prevent it from possible re-direction as some of the pivotal mechanisms of navigating through whenever in doubt about the safety of a link.

"Always exercise caution when accessing attachments and links shared from unknown sources. When in doubt, hover your mouse over the link to see the full URL or manual type in the link on a browser to prevent it from being re-directed," Equity Bank warned.

The bank urged its customers to always exercise caution when clicking such links, articulating that some links embody malwares which could give hackers an easier access to their devices.

"Avoid clicking on random links or downloading unsolicited files as they can result in malware attacks, which could give hackers access to your device," Equity Bank stated.
