Today, November 26, 2022, M-PESA underwent a significant change as a result of important updates that Safaricom, Kenya's top mobile service provider, announced.

All Kenyans between the ages of 10 and 17 will no longer conduct M-PESA transactions with people over the age of 18, according to Mr. Peter Ndegwa, Chief Executive Officer of Saricom.

Kenya's top mobile service provider, Safaricom, has announced that all Kenyans between the ages of 10 and 17 will be required to use the M-PESA Go App, whereas Kenyans aged 18 and older use the M-PESA Super App, USSD Code *334# to complete M-PESA transactions.

The M-PESA Go App will allow Juniors—those between the ages of 10 and 17—to send and receive money, purchase airtime, and use Lipa Na M-PESA services. According to Safaricom, this group is the only demographic allowed to use the app.
