Awards for Ugandan Athletes
President Yoweri Museven on Wednesday afternoon awarded Uganda's athletes with luxurious vehicles, following their remarkable performance at the just concluded 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Moreover Ugandan head of state, Yoweri Museven revealed that he will build a house for Gold Medalist, as well as reward all of Uganda's medalists with cash.
Speaking at the Kalolo Ceremonial Ground in Kampala, the head of state, Yoweri Museven announced that a monthly stipend for every gold medal winner at Shs 5 million (Kshs154,000), Shs 3m(Kshs 92,777) for silver and Shs 1m(Kshs 30,000) for bronze medalist.
Awards for Kenyan Athletes
Also in Kenya, the head of state Uhuru Kenyatta on August 16th 2021 announced the cash rewards of ksh 1million for Gold Medalists, Kshs 750,000 for Silver Medalists and Kshs 500,000 for Bronze Medalists.
President Uhuru Kenyatta also added that he will give a uniform token of Kshs 200,000 for all athletes and officials, including the Paralympics team, participating in delayed Summer Games.
