Everton were stunned 3-2 at Goodison Park by Brentford to suffer hige blow in the Premier League survival quest. Everton opened the scored in the first half through Dominic Calvert Lewin in the 10th minute before Coleman equalized for Brentford through an own goal and Richarlison converted a penalty in the 45th minute to gift the Toffees a 2-1 lead at halftime. Everton were weak in the second half after being reduced to 10 men in the first half following Branthwaite redcard in the 18th minute. Brentford scored two easy goals in the second half through Wissa who was assisted by Eriksen in the 62nd minute & Henry who was assisted by Norgaard in the 64th mimute to seal a 3-2 victory after Rondon was given a red card in the 88th minute to reduce the Toffees to 9 men.
Following the 3-2 victory, Brentford climbed up to position 11 with 46 points while Everton dropped to position 16 in the EPL table with 35 points. Burnley were defeated 1-0 by Tottenham, goal courtesy of Harry Kane to drop to position 18 with 34 points while Tottenham climbed up to position 4 with 68 points. Leeds United drew 1-1 against Brighton to climb up to position 17 in the Premier League table with 35 points while Brighton climbed up to position 10 with 45 points.
