Manchester City took the lead against West Ham in the first half thanks to a goal scored by Erling Haaland, who was making his Premier League debut for Manchester City.
He Is A Masterclass, Haaland Showcases What Premier League Should Expect From Him This Season.
After receiving criticism for his performance in the Community Shield over the past weekend, City's summer signing who cost £51 million responded to his detractors in the middle of the first half of City's opening game of the season to demonstrate why he was worth every penny.
After a deft turn that allowed him to lose his marker, the 22-year-old quickly latched on to an Ilkay Gundogan through pass. Haaland attempted to take the ball around Alphonse Areola by taking a touch, but the goalie was able to bring him down with an outstretched arm.
The striker quickly got to his feet, dusted himself off, grabbed the ball, and headed for the penalty spot after he had been knocked down.
