"He is one of the best holding midfielders I've ever seen." Guardiola praises United legend Carrick.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola who has managed various great teams across Europe such as Barcelona, Bayern Munich and now managing city has come out to reveal the best hold midfielder he has ever seen in his footballing carrier.

During Pep Guardiola's time at both Bayern Munich and Barcelona, he had some great holding midfielder such as Xabi Alonso and sergio Busquets.These two midfielders were considered the best in the world of football by then.

Guardiola has now come out to claim that Manchester United legend Michael Carrick was in the level of those best holding midfielders he has ever seen.

Guardiola faced Manchester United with Barcelona in the champions finals when Carrick was still playing for Manchester United as the holding midfielders.

That Manchester United team had also great midfielder such as Scholes and Darren Fletcher.Guardiola only single Carrick for praise due to the effect he had on the team.

Carrick joined Manchester United in 2006 from Tottenham Hotspur and played for United until 2018. He joined Jose Mourinho Manchester United coaching staff after quiting active football in 2018.

When Mourinho was sacked, Carrick remained at the club at formed the coaching staff of Ole Gunnar. Carrick worked with Ole for close to three years until last season when when the United legend was sacked.

Carrick was asked to head the team as a manager as the team was still search for an interim manager. Under his leadership as the manager of the club, the club won two matches out of three matches drawing one game.
