There is a good chance Casemiro would be mentioned if you were to list the top midfielders who are competing in the World Cup in Qatar. The midfielder for Manchester United has been a pillar of strength for Brazil.

Playing behind attacking-minded players like Neymar, Vinicius Jr., Richarlison, Lucas Paqueta, and Raphinha in Brazil's World Cup opener against Serbia, he made sure that the Brazilian defence wasn't porous by coordinating the attack and defense. Along with his clubmate Fred, Casemiro performed admirably against Switzerland on Monday night.

While Fred was covering him against Switzerland, Casemiro was able to show off his attacking instincts. Notably, he scored the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute against Switzerland, sending Brazil to the round of 16. Brazil's dependable forward, Neymar, who has been sidelined, was impressed with the 30-year-old's performance.

Neymar said, "Casemiro has been the best midfielder in the world for a long time." How much has Casemiro impressed you?
