Mathias Pogba, the brother of former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, is one of four people being held by police in connection with an alleged blackmail scheme against the Juventus midfielder.
Paul Pogba, 29, claims his brother Mathias is involved in a “group-organized extortion attempt” against him. Mathias has previously disputed the charges.
The footballer left Old Trafford this summer, bringing his six-year second career at the club to an end.
He claimed he was the target of an alleged £11 million plan against him by several of his childhood acquaintances, including his own brother.
The Juventus midfielder said that the money was asked for “security services” dating back 13 years.
Mathias Pogba pledged to uncover “explosive” “revelations” about his sibling in a peculiar and disturbing video posted on social media in late August.
The 32-year-old former Wrexham, Crew and Crawley striker claimed to have information regarding Juventus midfielder Pogba, his new agent, and France teammate Kylian Mbappe.
All three have disputed Mathias’ charges.
