France on Tuesday evening had a good start with 3 points after winning against Australia 4-1. It was a massive come back for France who had a poor start that led them to concede the first goal from their opponents Australia.
Giroud's two goals in both halves saw him equal Thierry Henry's record of 51 goals for the leading scorer of the French National team.
The struggle was not of waste when Australian C. Goodwin's scored the first goal just within the first nine minutes.
But the reigning champions got back to work and A. Rabiot leveled up before Giroud made it 2-1 just before the half time.
In the second half at Al Janoub Stadium k. Mbappe who has always been a thorn in the flesh of the Australians came back with intentions of letting the French men maintain the lead.
At 60th minutes Mbappe missed a clear chance to extend the lead for the France and at the 68th minutes with a nice header he extended the lead to 3-1.
Within the 7 extra added minutes at the end of 90 minutes Giroud equalised Thierry Henry records with another goal becoming the winners of their opener game.
