Football Kenya Federation announced the signing of Moldova Turkish Engin Firat as the new Harambee Stars head coach after former coach Jacob Mulee resigned on mutual consent. Engin was announced as mew coach few weeks to Kenya’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Mali.
Having a bad record of performance in Moldova, Engin Firat extended his poor performance to Kenya national team. This is after losing 0-6 to Mali in aggregate score. Harambee Stars recieved an embarrassment in their first leg in Mali where they lost 5-0 to Mali. This extended to 1-0 lose on a return leg in Nyayo stadium on Sunday 11, October.
Engin history of football performance is very poor from his country and FIFA ranking on Moldova performance is below Kenya performance. After he was sacked over lose in seven consecutive matches in Moldova, FKF considered him the best manager and this has proven their mistake leading the Harambee Stars out of World Cup qualifiers.
If Firat will continue with this poor performance, FKF will consider another option to change the performance of national football. Should Firat be sacked by Football Kenya Federation, where will he head following his poor performance in his coaching history?
