After a successful preseason which saw him net numerous goals for Al Duhail SC, Kenya national team captain Michael Olunga started his Qatar Stars League 2022-23 season campaign on Wednesday August 3 as Al Duhail settled for a 2-4 loss to Al Wakrah.
On top of playing the entire match, Olunga was also on the scoresheet as as he scored Al Duhail's second goal in the 50th minute.Murad Naji opened the scoring for Al Duhail through an own goal after which Trent Sainsbury responded for Al Wakrah in the 45th minute.Gelson Dala scored the second for Al Wakrah in the 54th minute with Omid Ebrahimi making it three in the 68th minute.Gelson Dala completed his brace in the 90th minute ensuring a 2-4 scoreline at the end of the match.
