Reactions As Lionel Messi Becomes The First Player In History To Do This

Lionel Messi was in action last night for Argentina in a FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Bolivia.

The new Paris Saint Germain attacker opened the scoring in the 13th minute after receiving a pass from Leandro Paredes to give the Argentines the lead. He then added a second goal in the 63rd minute using his right foot to make it 2-0 for Argentina. He then completed his hat-trick in the 88th minute from a rebound to make it a 3-0 for Argentina.

Before the game, Lionel Messi was one goal behind Brazil legend Pele as South America's all-time top scorer. After his three goals tonight, Lionel Messi has now broken Pele's record for most goals scored by a South American in international football history.

Messi has now a record of 79 goals by a South American player in international football surpassing Pele's 77 goals. The goals make it 751 goals total career goals for the Argentina skipper. This comes weeks after Lionel Messi led Argentina to Copa America glory winning his first international trophy.
