Ten Hag is willing to offer Alex Telles and Eric Bailly to Villarreal in exchange for their star defender, Pau Torres. Alex Telles' services have been deemed surplus to requirements upon the arrival of Tyrell Malacia. Eric Baily's game-time chances at Manchester United are slimmer than ever, so the defender simply needs a fresh start.
United came the closest to acquiring Torres in 2021, but instead chose to sign Raphael Varane. A defender signing this summer is a must given how bad the Red Devils' defence was.
In addition to Torres, United are attempting to sign Ajax's star defender, Lisandro Martinez. The Butcher of Amsterdam may be on his way to reuniting with Ten Hag at Old Trafford after United made their first offer to Ajax on Saturday.
