Most of the English Premier League teams are back in their training camps ready for next season. Arsenal will kick off their friendly matches by playing against the Scottish Cup finalists Hibernian on July 13. The Gunners would then remain in Scotland for a few days for a pre-season fixture against Rangers on Saturday, July 17.
This forms part of their training before 2021/22 season. The training camp in Edinburgh will run from Monday, July 12 through to the Rangers game on Saturday.
“We’re pleased to confirm our second game in Scotland as part of a week-long training camp that will help us prepare for the 2021/22 season." Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta told reporters.
According to Arteta, the matches against Hibernian and Rangers will be good tests for the club as the Gunners prepare to face other two strong opponents. Arteta said the team is delighted to have the friendlies organised early so they can get the most out of the two matches and the training camp.
The two scheduled games will lack away fans due to current restrictions relating to the coronavirus pandemic. Arsenal will then face Italian side Inter Milan, on July 25 before playing against EPL sides Everton, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
