Potter was tactically out maneuvered and Chelsea players the likes of Cucurella who had poor game let him down especially in the transition to defence. Cucurella performances were the most incomplete among all players. He had poor game, he didn't use his defending tactics to repel Brighton players attacks.
Chelsea was dominated from the beginning of the match as just after 5 minutes, Brighton had scored. It didn't take them long to add another after another and first half ended Chelsea down to 3 goals. Kai Havertz managed to score a goal for the Blues in second-half and the match ended Brighton 4-1 Chelsea.
Chelsea fans went on in the social media to troll Cucurella due to his implausible play against Brighton. They said Chelsea really paid Brighton £70m for Cucurella and £22m for Graham Potter just to end up disappointing. Cucurella is an average player if we're being honest, the money we paid for him is not a true reflection of his ability but an inflated market unless he proves us wrong.
