Last night was an incredible night for the lovers of football as the English Premier League hosted several matches. The matches kicked off at 8pm with Manchester United Vs Fulham facing each other in a high voltage clash.
An early goal from goal of the season contender Edison Cavani earned Manchester United the lead with the hosts seeing most of the ball in the first half. However things changed in the second half, a late sensational equaliser by Joe Bryan assured the already relegated Fulham a point at Old Trafford with the game ending on a 1-1 draw. The draw meant United maintain their second place in the premier League table.
Manchester City also had a night clash with the stubborn Brighton Albion in a dramatic match that saw many goals being scored in the second half. Ilkay Gundogan opened the scoring barely 2 minutes into the game. However Joao Canelo was handed a direct red card after he was found guilty of serious foul play. The second half saw a series of goals being scored by both teams. Despite City's high ball possession, Brighton managed to make an incredible comeback to beat the Champions 3-2.
Southampton faced it off with Leeds United at 2000Hrs East African Time (EAT) where the hosts who happened to be Southampton were outwitted by the stronger side. Leeds cruised past Southampton at Sait Mary's stadium in a 2-0 thriller. The win means that Leeds go into the 8th position having played one game ahead.
The last Premier League game of the night was between two arch-rivals, Chelsea Vs Leicester City. The game was a tough one to decide as both teams sought for goals. The heat of the game was ignited in the second half as Antonio Rudiger opened the scoring at 47th minute. Joginho doubled the score for Chelsea at 66th minute after converting a penalty kick. However, Kelechi Iheanacho brought one back for the Foxes to keep them in the game.
The Chelsea clash against Leicester City ended in a narrow 2-1 win in favour of Chelsea. The Chelsea win has greatly impacted the English Premier League table with the Blues currently at position three surpassing Leicester City who are now position four in the table. Liverpool are currently at position five and incase they win their next game they will be assured of top four.
